Fire alarms and emergency lighting systems are design to give advance warning of a fire and ensure anyone in the building escapes as quickly and safely as possible.
OHeap provides a complete solution for your Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting requirements, from design and installation to on-going service and 24/7 monitoring. We offer a wide range of solutions to suit different building types and applications.
All work is undertaken to British Standards BS5839 (Fire Alarms) and BS5266 (Emergency Lighting) and in addition we operate the BAFE SP203 scheme, a solution which many companies find affords them peace of mind whilst providing significant savings on their insurance premiums.
In an emergency, the mains power supply can be disrupted. In such situations it is important to have a secondary lighting system ready to guide people as they evacuate the building. Emergency luminaires are required to provide light for 3 hours, as detailed in BS5266 pt1, 2011. This British Standard also provides information on where luminaires should be sited and the level of illumination they should provide. In addition, exit and safety signs are required as detailed in the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996.
At KeyFire we supply a wide range of emergency lights and signage. We can also service lighting installations, testing each luminaire for the required 3 hours to ensure they will be ready to work if an emergency situation arises.

A Fire Blanket is a highly flame-resistant blanket that can be used to either extinguish a small fire or to wrap around a person. They are made from 2 layers of woven glass fibre fabric and an inner layer of fire retardant film. They work by cutting off the oxygen supply (oxygen is one of the three elements that a fire needs to burn) and smothering the fire. They are particularly useful for smothering fat pan fires or for wrapping around a person whose clothing is on fire. Fire blankets conforming to British StandardBSEN1869:1997are suitable for use in the home.
